There is no surprise here that the Android platform had a positive impact over the mobile users over the last two years. As for the Android market, the numbers of apps are growing day by day, counting more than 70,000 apps at the moment. The information comes from the Google's staff during their Q2 earnings conference call.

That's up from the 68,000 apps announced by Google's Andy Rubin back in June, when the Droid X event was announced. Apparently the folks over at AndroLib have been much more enthusiastic about estimating the numbers of apps available in the Android market. According to their scores, Android market has 100,000 apps with more than 1 billion apps downloaded by the users.

An impressive number which hasn't been yet confirmed by Google, but this isn't the first time AndroLib and Google have had different numbers. In March, AndroLib counted 35,000 apps, while Google talked about 30,000 apps, so probably the discrepancy might be thanks to the international Markets.

Whatever the exact number is, that's a lot of apps and it seems that it continues to grow rapidly. Let's wait to see what's heppening in the next quarter. Keep you updated with more fresh news, so, stay tuned!
