AT&T Dell Aero goes on sale for $99.99 Posted on: August 25, 2010 [Source]
Announced back in March, Dell finally decided to launch its first Android phone, the Aero. Dell's Streak tablet might have getting all the Android attention from the company, but the Aero is a phone waited by a part of Dell's customers. You can grab the device by signing in for a two-year AT&T contract for $99.99 or $299.99 without any commitment.
To refresh your memory, we remind you what Dell Aero comes with. It runs Android 1.5 platform, a 3.5-inch(640x360) capacitive multi-touch display, 5 MP camera with 8xzoom, flash, dedicated camera button, powered by a 624MHz Marvell processor plus removable 2GB MicroSD card.
For the same price you get also Dell's UI enhancements along with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth plus a 3.67 ounce claimed weight that the company reckons is "one of the lightest"Android phones with a stylish and compact design.
We can't tell if the phone will get an update of the Android platform anytime soon, but we'll let you know if fresh infos emerge. Having that said, the device is not such a bad investment to do with your money. But to launch a device running Android 1.5 in August of 2010 with Android 2.1 and 2.2 dominating the market, is an act of courage from Dell. Would you buy it?
