Droid X is now available Posted on: July 15, 2010 [Source]
If you've been patiently or anxiously waiting for the Droid X to come out, now it's finally available. For the moment you can buy it directly from Verizon's online store for the announced price of $199.99 along with a two year contract.
If you can't sleep or even wait for a few more hours until they open the stores, you can quickly order it online and you'll benefit of the $100 discount, as a special introductory price. Don't wanna make any contract with the Verizon? Well, expect to pay more for the phone, a full retail price of $559.99. Either way you choose, you get the Motorola's Android device you've been waiting so long.
Or should we better say, see you tommorow, as Verizon tried to tease their customers or, let's say, scare them with that video? As we stated in the previous articles about the Droid X, it's been really a big fuss around this Android phone with all the intensive publicty, rumors, marketing strategies used by Motorola and Verizon. Even so, we can't deny the new Motorola device stands out from the rest of Verizon's devices line.
If you recall it, the story of the Droid X began almost two months ago (at the end of May), when it was spotted as a mysterious new device, ready to hit the market. After being seen in different places with one by one leaked photo coming to light, the Droid X finally came into play, as a great Motorola's success, a competitive smartphone with what's now on the market.
And to refresh your memory with its great specs, the Droid X features:
- 4.3-inch WVGA capacitive display
- 1 GHz TI OMAP CPU
- 8 MP camera with dual-LED flash and 720p video capture
- 8GB of internal memory with expansion up top 32GB
- HDMI-out port
- 3.5mm headphone jack
- Android 2.1
- Mobile Hotspot feature, 3G data connectivity, WiFi, GPS.
Full specs, gallery and other details, you cand find also on the source link. But, maybe you don't need them anymore, cause you already know that's the phone you've been waiting for, isn't is? Did you gave up to the iPhone 4 or Galaxy S for the Droid X? It doesn't have that special screen with "wow factor" (the retina display), you know, but, for sure it's a high-end Android phone, betther than the Droid Incredible or the upcoming Droid 2. Anyway, good job, Motorola!
