Verizon HTC Bliss to be an Android phone for women Posted on: May 5, 2011 [Source]
HTC is working on an Android phone for women. As odd as it sounds, the guys over at This is my next have received a hint saying that the Taiwan baised manufacturer will produce the HTC Bliss, the first Android model for ladies.
Does a 4.3-inch smartphone is too masculine for a woman to hold? Are all Android phones designs towards men? If for most men is easy to pick a phone from HTC, it seems that is not the same thing for women, which are complaining that HTC phones aren't for their taste.
So, the company decided to hold focus groups with women in their 20s and 30s to see what their take is on a new handset that is supposed to hit the market on Verizon's network before the end of the year. What you see in the above image, it is just the concept of how HTC Bliss could look like.
As for the technical details, it is expected to be nearly a half centimeter thinner than the HTC Desire Z, though there is no keyboard here. It comes with a camera on the back, with no specification of a front facing one.
There are no infos about what version of Android this will be running, but it will feature some interesting apps (for women) such as: “calming” wallpapers along with shopping, calorie counting. And because all women love to accesorize, the accessories will be a key factor for the upcoming handset.
Does HTC Bliss will stand for a chance in the Android world? Are all actual smartphones too masculine for a woman to choose a handset? This is what HTC is trying to do; testing the Bliss with consumers. We'll see what's happen.
