T-Mobile G2 Posted on: August 24, 2010 [Source]
Almost two years ago, T-Mobile released the world's first Android powered phone, the G1. Along with Google, it created a new class of mobile phones who started a real revolution. Now we get to see its successor making the entrance on the stage: the G2.
The HTC G2 has been announced by T-Mobile as the first Android phone to support the new HSPA+ network and will be the U.S. version of the upcoming HTC Vision. What does that mean? From what we heard, the phone is likely to feature a 3.7-inch display, a sliding QWERTY keyboard, powered by a 1 GHz Snapdragon processor and a 5 megapixel camera with auto-focus and LED flash.
The below image shows a good looking device with the backside revealing that HTC looks ready to get into the asymetrical design concept (considering the tiny keyboard disproportionate to the screen). Thanks to a second-set of images we can see the strange hinge mechanism that works of the slide being pulled up.
As for the release date, it is rumored to come out at the end of September, more specifically the 29th with a pre-sale happening before that, according to the TmoNews. No mention about the price but we guess T-Mobile will sell it around $199 with a two-year agreement.
