Android market share

It's a fact that Android platform was (and still is) a great success and thousands of new activations including this OS, especially on the USA market, made this area becoming more and more bigger. The latest scores registered by ComScore report show the top smartphone platforms and mobile OEMs for the three month period ending in May 2010.

The report was focused on US smartphone owners over the age of 13 and the numbers show clearly that in the latest three months more and more people were using a smartphone; " 234 million Americans age 13 and older used mobile devices", as ComScore said. On the top of choices, Samsung gets the first position with 22.4 percent of U.S. mobile subscribers, followed by LG, Motorola, RIM and Nokia.

As the graphics point, the Android market continues to grow as the platform is gaining more and more subscribers. A notable score spotted was a 4% increase in Google's market share from February to May, as all other OS registrations were down. RIM,Apple and Microsoft saw their shares going down as well. But, we expect to see different numbers for Apple, counting the launch of the iPhone 4.

Android market will not score less number in the next future, especially with the Samsung Galaxy S launch to all major US carriers and more other Android phones ready to hit the stage. So, with many phones coming on the market, it would be no surprise to see Android passing up Apple by the end of the year.
