Motorola Droid X officially coming on July 15th Posted on: June 24, 2010 [Source]
We have to admit it's been a big fuss around this Android phone for sometime. And yesterday too. It was a huge day for Verizon and Motorola as they officially announced the Motorola Droid X. The event called "The next generation of DROID" was all about this next Android beast for Big Red who's landing next month on Verizon.
Although we knew enough about the Droid X until now, Verizon and Motorola exposed everything you need to find out about this impressive device with quite a great list of specs. Here is what the phone will feature:
- Android 2.1 ( the 2.2 version later this summer)
- a 4.3-inch high resolution display
- a fast 1GHz processor and HDMI out
- 8MP camera with dual LED flash and 720p video capture
- 8GB of internal memory with expansion up top 32GB
- 512 MB RAM plus WiFi, aGPS, Bluetooth, FM radio, WiFi hotspot service
As it was announced, the Droid X is coming on July 15th for $199 after a $100 mail-in rebate with a new two-year customer contract. For data service you'll have to pay $29.99 and the mobile hospot functionality will cost $20 per month. Also, all Verizon customers whose contracts ends until the end of 2010 will be eligible for the upgrade of any smartphone, including the Droid X.
