Acer unveils its 4.8-inch Android phone

Acer's event held in New York yesterday was the moment to announce its new touch-focused products. This beauty you probably got immediatly fascinate is the yet unnamed new Android phone or, should we say tablet? Calling it "100 percent smartphone. 100 percent tablet", it packs the highest resolution display in the Android phones area: a 4.8-inch 1024x480 touchscreen display. Wooow!
Combining the capabilities of a smartphone with a tablet format, this huge handset features a revolutionary design, "characterized by a stretched out, thin and slightly curved shape", as the company described it. A nice full metal body back with subtle wavy patterns make this new Android device a fashionable and innovative one that can't go unnoticed.
As for the specs, excepting the huge display, it comes equipped with an 8MP camera and LED flash, a 2MP front camera, 720p video recording, 1 GHz Snapdragon processor plus other goodies like Bluetooth 3.0, 802.11n WiFi, HSDPA support, HDMI output and a six-axis Gyroscope + accelerometer package and LED edge lighting. Sounds impressive, huh?
Wanna experience this new smartphone? You'll have to wait until next year, sometime in April, when this beast will hit the market. And still no name for it. How would you call it? Any ideas?

Well, look who's going to join the Android market competition! None other than Panasonic. Yes, you heard it right. The Japanese company is back in business and working on its first line of Android phones, available across Japan early next year and in 2012 overseas.

Acer Liquid Metal

What you see in the below picture, it seems to be the new Android phone from Acer, the Liquid Metal with the entire body made of aluminium shell. According to a Russian website, the upcoming device will run Android 2.2 Froyo with Acer's custom users interface and will come in two different colors.

AT&T Dell Aero goes on sale for $99.99

Announced back in March, Dell finally decided to launch its first Android phone, the Aero. Dell's Streak tablet might have getting all the Android attention from the company, but the Aero is a phone waited by a part of Dell's customers.You can grab it by signing in for a two-year AT&T contract for $99.99 or $299.99 without. Anyone?

Huawei Ideos is a new cheap smartphone from Huawei, that will hit the market soon, since it just passed the FCC today. In the picture gallery below you can see some of the FCC real pictures of the device but more you can find in the source link.
The main feature of this small phone is the fact it runs Android 2.2. Other than that is a decent budget phone, with a 2.8 inch 320x240 capacitive touchscreen, 512 ROM, 256 RAM and all the other goodies.

Acer Stream is coming for Expansys UK on August 9th

Remember the Acer Stream? First time this Android phone appeared, it was back in May at Google I/O conference without no technical details but with a full description at the Computex event in June. After being spotted over at Expansys UK page, there is now official confirmation for the Acer Stream to be launched on August 9th.

Acer's newest Android phone, the Liquid Stream, was surprised at the Google I/O conference last week along with a bunch of other known and unknown handsets. Although no details were provided then, we now found out more infos about this smartphone. It's coming sometimes in October and it just got approval from FCC.

T-Mobile Garminfone coming on June 2

If you were wondering how longer you have to wait for the Garminfone to be release, we say about a week. The folks over at Engadget reported that it might arrive on June 2, as this leaked shot is pointing to us. The price announced for this Android phone is $199.99 with two year contract agreement.

FCC approves Dell Aero to be released

After we've seen Dell announcing all those smartphones for 2011, now we have Aero as the first Android handset for USA ready to go out. Receiving approval from FCC, it means we are gonna see it launched very soon. Probably in the Q2, as rumors are saying.
