Posted on: April 21, 2010 / Category: Other
If some while ago we had some rumors about Garmin working with Asus to release an Android handset, now it is official. T-Mobile made the announcement in a press release for the new Garminefone. Yes, you heard it well. GARMINEFONE.
That Nuvifone A50 announced back at MWC this year is the exclusive new smartphone for the USA carrier, fully integrated with Garmin's premium navigation experience. So if you are looking for a mobile handset that combines the desirable status of a smartphone with the dependence of leading navigational software, this is the one.
Expect to find on it a 3MP autofocus camera, microSD expansion up to 32GB, WiFi, the Android OS ( 1.6 version -unofficial) and a large 3.5 inch screen integrated with that Garmin's navigation experience. It's a certain thing that the primary focus of this phone is the navigation, so it'll come bundled with a charging dash / windshield mount.
So, all T-Mobile's customers who have been patiently waiting for this Android phone to come out, will want to know the date for its launch which will be "later this spring". We will let you know with more infos.
