Sony Ericsson is pushing out the Xperia active in the US smartphone market for the most adventurous and active persons. The company has teamed up with Ingram Micro, a supply chain management company that distributes phones via US retailers.
The result was the announcement of the Xperia active, a water resistant and dust proof Android smartphone that includes wet finger tracking to ensure the phone works great under the toughest conditions.
SE Xperia active runs Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread with a 3-inch scratch resistant multi-touch screen, a 5 megapixel camera on the back with HD video functionality, indicating heart rate/pulse on the screen. It is available in two colors: orange band with black back cover and white band.
Its price tag is set for $370 and is already available at Newegg.com and other online retailers.
