Acer Liquid underclocked at 768MHz - Android Phones

Acer Liquid underclocked at 768MHz
Posted on: November 2, 2009

Unfortunately, looking at this picture from Engadget, it seems that in a quest to squeeze the most of the Liquid's battery Acer decided to underclock the processor on it's first Android phone.

We all thought (and hoped) that Acer Liquid will be powered by a 1GHz Snapdragon but it probably was too much for the 1350 mAh battery to handle so Acer decided to release the phone with the CPU at "just" 768 MHz.

It might look low but considering the competition at the moment it will be one of the top Android phones on the market. What will happen in the future (when Xperia Infinity and Dragon come out) it still an unknown, since many manufacturers might decide to cut the power from their unreleased phones from the same reasons.

Let's not forget the DROID / Milestone was rumored to be a 1GHz phone too, then a 600MHz only to be released underclocked at 550 MHz yet it's still the greatest and most anticipated Android phone out there.
